Fashion Forward Batik Kelantan Exhibition is a continuation after the showcase on runway of KLFW 2017, Fashion Night Out presented by Ministry of Tourism & Culture. This collaborative effort by Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) and YANAS Foundation (Yayasan Noor Al Syakur) which will be taking place from 8th – 28th February 2018. Moving forward from the KLFW 2017’s showcase that aimed to cultivate the interest to preserve and revive the art of Malaysian cultural and heritage to this that aimed to introduce culturally sustainable textiles to every day garments.
In collaboration with YANAS, 6 emerging talented designers namely Fiqbah, Loh Teik Lim, Roy Xun, Ter Mei Ching, Seza Zulkeple and Syamil Fazwan who were the past finalist from AirAsia Runway Ready Designers Search (AARRDS) have reinvented Batik in contemporary ready-to-wear fashion and showcased Fashion Forward Ready-To-Wear pieces during one of the segment in KLFW 2017. The six budding designers who attended the launch were expressing how fortunate to be part of this meaningful project.
This exhibition is open to public from 8am to 10pm at Art Gallery of MaTiC (Malaysia Tourism Centre) throughout 8th – 28th February 2018.
