Mathilde Laurent, Cartier's perfumer hates the archetype of the rose, an emblem of femininity that withers before it blooms, and longs to give it back its true nature. Hence, Cartier latest Les Collections De Parfums - I Only Love Wild Roses is much more nuanced. The collection celebrates the beauty and freedom of roses in three acts. Cartier roses are neither meek nor submissive, it is proudly pointing their thorns and daring to do anything!
The three perfumes portray three different strokes of rose taking over the Maison's High Perfumery in the form of, Pure Rose for the Les Epures de Parfum Collection (a fully naked rose) that gives out nothing but pure and simple pleasure of a hyper-realistic rose offering itself up completely nude, L'Heure Osee for Les Heures de Parfum (a punk rose) that is fearless with fresh and pop to boast only four letters DARE! and lastly Oud & Pink for Les Heures Votageuses (a shocking and androgynous rose in a tuxedo) that plays with gender, mixing both the floral and the masculine note for a rough yet smooth ride.
Of course, everyone's tastes are different and that makes it all the more interesting.. and above all, not cut it, so that it stays fresh, raw, lively, wild, acidic and daring. May it never wither @Cartier
